So, it finally happened. After driving for 16 years, I got my first traffic ticket this weekend. And here's the deal, I think it's crap. The ticket was for "following too close". Had I really been following too closely, I would have hit either the Durango or the other SUVish thing that I slid past on my way to the ditch. Right? And if it were really, truly an accident, there would have been damage to a vehicle. Right? Well, i guess my license plate did get all bent up, but that's it.
Just sayin'
It was an awesome day despite the troubles. J had a great time skiing in the biggest snowstorm we've had since the resorts opened in November. I managed to link a few turns from my heel side to toe side and back to my toes...FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. (I go snowboarding, but I've never said I'm good at it). No one was injured in the "accident" (I was only going 15 mph). And, we probably did our bodies a favor in deciding to cancel our fondue reservations and just have pizza when we got back to Denver. Oh, and my insurance company cut me a check on Monday for the $150 we paid the tow truck to get the car out of the ditch on Saturday. It's good to find the good.
